NOTES
What fits do your jeans come in?
Our standard year-round fits are Slim, Straight, and Relaxed.
Slim has a medium rise and is trim, but not tight, at the top. It’s tailored through the thigh and leg, with a 14.5” cuff opening; it’s also available in a high-rise option.
Straight has a medium rise and a classic fit: easy throughout with a straight leg and a 16.5” cuff opening.
Relaxed has a high rise and is roomy up top, with a full stovepipe leg and an 18.5” cuff opening.
How do I figure out my size?
Every pair of jeans has a Size Guide that details its exact measurements on its product page, and you can also use True Fit to help determine the best size for you. If you’re still not sure, just reach out to our Support team for help picking the perfect fit.
If they don't fit, can I return or exchange them?
Absolutely! All of our jeans are subject to our Return & Exchange policy, detailed here.
Will these jeans stretch over time?
Denim made from 100% cotton will loosen up a little with a few wears, much like a pair of leather shoes, whereas our stretch denim is designed to comfortably retain its shape.
What’s the difference between your types of denim?
All of our denim is carefully chosen, tested, and sourced to prioritize quality and comfort, and it’s all dyed with natural indigo. We carry three main qualities.
Standard Denim: Made from 100% cotton, our classic denim starts with a crisp, rigid look and feel before it’s washed for softness.
Japanese Selvedge Stretch: Made in Japan from 98% cotton and 2% elastane, our stretch selvedge has vintage appeal with modern comfort.
Lightweight Japanese Selvedge: Made in Japan from 100% cotton, our lightweight selvedge weighs an ounce less than our standard denim options.
What is “selvedge” denim?
"Selvedge" refers to a type of heritage denim woven on special vintage shuttle looms in small batches — it’s identified by the red ticking at the outseams. The looms produce fabric rolls that are half the width of standard denim, which makes for a time-intensive process, but the final result is prized for its durability and exceptional character.
Will these jeans dye my clothes or shoes?
Because our denim is dyed with natural indigo and not synthetic dye, the darker washes can sometimes transfer color to your hands or light clothing. This is known as “crocking,” and can be mitigated by washing your jeans once, separately, before wearing them — but it’s also a unique attribute of high-quality denim.
How should I care for my jeans?
Unless your jeans acquire a stain or smell, you can wash them infrequently — something like every 10 to 15 wears (and some would say even more rarely). Make sure to wash them inside out, in cold water, and to air-dry them afterwards to best preserve the color and structure of the denim.
